OPENAI ANNOUNCES GPT-4o MAKING CHATGPTโS BEST FEATURES FREE FOR ALL
OpenAI has introduced GPT-4o, a groundbreaking AI model that promises to revolutionize the way we interact with artificial intelligence. This advanced technology brings real-time voice interaction, multi-tone and voice capabilities, and enhanced visual understanding to the forefront.
Starting May 13, GPT-4o will be accessible to all ChatGPT users, with varying prompt limits and voice function availability across different subscription tiers. The model's ability to detect and respond with appropriate tones and voices, as well as its capacity to be interrupted and corrected mid-conversation, aims to provide a more human-like experience.
In addition to its voice capabilities, GPT-4o can answer questions about photos and desktop screenshots, identifying brand names, explaining complex concepts, and even translating menus. OpenAI even plans to expand its capabilities to support live sports commentary and rule explanations in the future.
Improved multilingual functions across 50 different languages and a faster API compared to GPT-4 Turbo are among the many notable enhancements. GPT-4o also excels in text generation, creating legible text and arranging it in creative ways, such as typewriter pages, movie posters, or poetic typography, while emulating handwriting and including doodles.
A dedicated Mac app with keyboard shortcut and screenshot support is also now available, with a Windows app expected by the end of 2024. While real-time voice conversations are currently restricted to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, the model is available to all users from the start, with limitations on prompt usage for non-subscribers.
GPT-4o represents an evolution of the GPT-4 AI model, unifying voice, text, and vision capabilities into an "omni model." OpenAI is cautiously rolling out the technology to trusted partners initially, but it is expected to be widely adopted by third parties in the future.
