ADOBE PREMIERE PRO TO INTEGRATE GENERATIVE AI VIDEO TOOLS

Adobe is working on integrating generative AI video capabilities into its popular Premiere Pro video editing software. The new Firefly-powered tools will allow users to generate video content, remove or add objects, and extend the length of video clips using text prompts, similar to the Generative Fill feature in Photoshop. In addition to developing its own video generation model, Adobe is also exploring integrations with third-party AI providers like Runway, Pika Labs, and OpenAI's Sora. These partnerships would give Premiere Pro users more options to choose from when generating or manipulating video assets for their projects.

While Adobe has not yet announced a release date for these new generative AI features, the company has stated they will roll out "this year." The early demonstrations of the Firefly video model's capabilities have been promising, but the creative software giant acknowledges that the third-party AI integrations are still in the exploratory stage.

The move to incorporate generative AI into Premiere Pro aligns with Adobe's broader strategy of embedding its Firefly family of AI-powered tools across its creative suite. By providing users with more choice and flexibility, Adobe aims to maintain its position as a go-to platform for professional video editors and content creators.
